- Develop and implement tax strategies and policies for the REIT portfolio to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Conduct thorough and accurate research on tax laws and regulations related to REITs and provide recommendations to senior management.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of all tax returns for the REIT portfolio.
- Analyze and interpret financial data to identify potential tax savings opportunities and make recommendations for tax planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounting and finance, to ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax information.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate potential impacts to senior management.
- Lead a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work and efficient processes.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of tax processes to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
- Build and maintain relationships with external tax advisors and government agencies.
- Communicate complex tax concepts and strategies to non-tax professionals within the company.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to REIT taxation.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives related to tax planning and analysis for the REIT portfolio.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive tax information.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Reit Tax Laws And Regulations: A Corporate Tax Manager At Truist Financial Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The Complex Tax Laws And Regulations Specific To Reits. This Includes Knowledge Of Reit Tax Exemptions, Qualifying Income, And Distribution Requirements.
Experience In Corporate Tax Planning And Compliance: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Several Years Of Experience In Corporate Tax Planning And Compliance, Specifically In The Real Estate Industry. This Will Ensure They Are Well-Versed In Tax Strategies And Can Effectively Manage The Tax Affairs Of The Reit.
Cpa Certification And/Or Advanced Degree In Tax: Truist Financial Requires Their Corporate Tax Managers To Have A Cpa Certification And/Or An Advanced Degree In Tax. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Solid Understanding Of Tax Principles And Can Provide Expert Advice To The Company.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: As A Corporate Tax Manager, The Individual Will Be Responsible For Analyzing Financial Data, Identifying Potential Tax Issues, And Developing Solutions To Minimize Tax Liability.
