Assistant General Counsel - Employment

At Truist Financial, we are looking for an Assistant General Counsel - Employment who will be a key member of our Legal team. This position will provide legal support on a wide range of employment-related matters, including labor and employment counseling, dispute resolution, and litigation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with senior leaders and influence business decisions across the organization.We are looking for an experienced attorney who has a strong understanding of employment law, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to think critically and strategically. The ideal candidate must have a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction. Responsibilities:

1. Provide legal advice and assistance on a wide range of employment-related matters, including labor and employment counseling, dispute resolution, and litigation.
2. Represent the organization in employment-related administrative proceedings and in state and federal court, as needed.
3. Assist in the development of policies, procedures, and programs to ensure the organization’s compliance with applicable employment laws.
4. Monitor and review developments in the field of employment law to ensure the organization remains compliant.
5. Provide advice and counsel to senior leadership on employment-related matters.
6. Collaborate with other departments and external resources to ensure the organization’s employment-related needs are met.
7. Draft and negotiate contracts related to employment law matters.
8. Prepare and present training sessions to ensure appropriate understanding and implementation of employment laws.
9. Manage and oversee outside counsel on employment-related matters.
10. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
