- Design, develop, implement, and maintain efficient and secure account access and recovery solutions for TransferWise's global money transfer platform
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers, providing guidance, support, and encouragement to foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve the backend engineering process
- Ensure data security and integrity by implementing and maintaining industry-standard security protocols
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve any technical issues that may arise
- Optimize performance and scalability of backend systems to ensure a seamless and efficient user experience
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and promote knowledge sharing among team members
- Collaborate with frontend engineers to ensure seamless integration of backend and frontend systems
- Propose and implement innovative solutions to improve the user experience and drive business growth
