Job Description

Are you a fluent German speaker with a passion for ensuring global communication and understanding? Are you detail-oriented and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment? TransferWise is seeking a talented Localisation Specialist to join our team on a 2-year fixed-term contract. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring our product and content is accurately and effectively translated for our German-speaking customers.   1. Accurately translate product and content materials from English to German for TransferWise's German-speaking customers.
  2. Ensure that all translations are culturally appropriate and effectively convey the intended message.
  3. Collaborate with the product and content teams to understand the context and tone of the materials being translated.
  4. Review and proofread translations for accuracy, consistency, and quality assurance.
  5. Conduct research on the German market and language to stay up-to-date with current trends and terminology.
  6. Collaborate with other team members to develop and maintain a glossary of key terms and phrases.
  7. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather feedback and make necessary revisions to translations.
  8. Manage multiple translation projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
  9. Continuously improve and streamline the translation process to increase efficiency and quality.
  10. Contribute to the overall localization strategy and make recommendations for improvements.
  11. Stay informed about industry best practices and implement them into the translation process.
  12. Maintain a high level of quality and attention to detail in all translated materials.
  13. Act as a cultural consultant to ensure that all materials are culturally sensitive and appropriate for the target audience.
  14. Provide support to other team members and assist with any other localization-related tasks as needed.
  15. Represent TransferWise's values and mission to promote global communication and understanding through accurate and effective translations.

Job Qualifications

  • Fluency In German: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess Native-Level Fluency In The German Language, With A Deep Understanding Of Local Nuances And Cultural Sensitivities.

  • Experience In Localisation: The Candidate Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Localisation, Preferably In A Fast-Paced And Dynamic Environment. This Includes Experience In Translation, Localisation Testing, And Content Adaptation.

  • Strong Communication Skills: The Role Requires Close Collaboration With Various Teams, Including Product, Engineering, And Content. The Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Convey Complex Localisation Concepts And Requirements.

  • Attention To Detail: As A Localisation Specialist, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Ensuring The Accuracy And Consistency Of All German Language Content. A Keen Eye For Detail And A Strong Understanding Of Linguistic Conventions Is Essential For This Role.

  • Adaptability And Problem-Solving: The Candidate Should Be Able To Work In A Constantly Evolving Environment, Where Priorities And Projects May Change Frequently. They Should Also Possess Strong Problem-Solving Skills To Find Creative Solutions To Localisation Challenges.
