Job Description

Are you passionate about all things spirits? Do you have a deep knowledge and love for the world of whiskey, gin, and everything in between? Total Wine & More is seeking a talented and knowledgeable Spirits Consultant to join our team and help our customers discover their new favorite libation. As a Spirits Consultant, you will have the opportunity to share your expertise and recommendations with our customers while providing exceptional customer service.   1. Provide superior customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and knowledgeable manner.
  2. Educate customers on various spirits, including whiskey, gin, and other types of liquor.
  3. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, new products, and emerging brands to make informed recommendations to customers.
  4. Use product knowledge and customer preferences to make personalized recommendations for customers.
  5. Assist customers in finding their new favorite spirit by offering tastings and providing information on flavor profiles, pairings, and cocktail recipes.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized spirits department, including stocking shelves, rotating products, and ensuring accurate pricing.
  7. Continuously strive to meet and exceed sales goals and targets.
  8. Collaborate with team members to create engaging displays and promotions for spirits products.
  9. Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns in a professional and timely manner.
  10. Attend and participate in training sessions and product knowledge seminars to stay current on industry trends and new products.
  11. Build and maintain relationships with customers to foster loyalty and repeat business.
  12. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  13. Assist in inventory management and ordering of spirits products.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
  15. Continuously seek opportunities to improve and grow within the company.

Job Qualifications
  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Spirits: A Spirits Consultant At Total Wine & More Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Various Types Of Spirits, Including Whiskey, Vodka, Gin, Rum, Tequila, And More. This Includes Knowledge Of Production Methods, Flavor Profiles, And Serving Suggestions.

  • Experience In The Alcohol Industry: Candidates For This Role Should Have Experience Working In The Alcohol Industry, Whether In A Retail Setting Or With A Spirits Brand. This Experience Should Include A Deep Understanding Of Market Trends, Customer Preferences, And Industry Regulations.

  • Exceptional Customer Service Skills: As A Spirits Consultant, You Will Be Interacting With Customers On A Daily Basis, Assisting Them In Finding The Perfect Spirit For Their Needs. Therefore, Excellent Customer Service Skills Are Essential For This Role. This Includes Being Friendly, Approachable, And Knowledgeable.

  • Strong Communication And Sales Skills: A Successful Spirits Consultant Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Customers And Make Sales. This Requires Excellent Communication Skills, As Well As The Ability To Upsell And Cross-Sell Products To Increase Sales And Meet Targets.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Total Wine & More Is A Busy Retail Environment, Especially During Peak Hours And Holiday Seasons. As A Spirits Consultant, You Should Be Able To Handle A Fast-Paced Work Environment And Thrive Under Pressure. This Includes Being Able To Multitask, Prioritize Tasks, And Work Efficiently To Meet Customer Needs.
