Job Description

Total Wine & More is seeking an experienced Inventory Specialist to join our team! As an Inventory Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring our shelves are fully stocked with the best selection of wine, spirits, and beer. We are looking for someone who is proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently. If you have a background in inventory management and a love for all things beverage-related, we want to hear from you!

  1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory levels for all products in the store.
  2. Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile any discrepancies.
  3. Monitor inventory levels and identify any potential issues or shortages.
  4. Place orders for new inventory as needed to ensure shelves are fully stocked.
  5. Receive and process new shipments of products, including checking for accuracy and quality.
  6. Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient and timely restocking of shelves.
  7. Keep track of product expiration dates and rotate stock accordingly.
  8. Maintain organized and tidy storage areas for inventory.
  9. Collaborate with management to develop and implement inventory management strategies.
  10. Communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers to resolve any inventory-related issues.
  11. Identify and report any damaged or defective products.
  12. Stay up-to-date on product knowledge and industry trends to inform purchasing decisions.
  13. Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding inventory management.
  14. Proactively identify areas for improvement and suggest solutions.
  15. Work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  16. Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  17. Adapt quickly to changing priorities and tasks.
  18. Follow safety protocols and guidelines when handling inventory.
  19. Train and mentor new inventory team members as needed.
  20. Represent the company in a professional and positive manner at all times.

  • Knowledge Of Inventory Management Systems: A Strong Understanding Of Inventory Management Systems, Such As Sap Or Oracle, Is Essential For An Inventory Specialist At Total Wine & More. This Includes The Ability To Accurately Track Inventory Levels, Analyze Data, And Make Recommendations For Improvements.

  • Attention To Detail: The Ability To Pay Close Attention To Detail Is Crucial For An Inventory Specialist. They Must Be Able To Accurately Count And Track Inventory, Identify Discrepancies, And Ensure That All Inventory Is Properly Labeled And Stored.

  • Organizational Skills: Inventory Specialists Must Have Excellent Organizational Skills To Manage And Maintain A Large Inventory. This Includes The Ability To Prioritize Tasks, Coordinate With Other Departments, And Maintain Accurate Records.

  • Analytical Skills: A Strong Understanding Of Data Analysis And The Ability To Interpret Inventory Data Is Necessary For An Inventory Specialist. This Includes Identifying Trends, Forecasting Inventory Needs, And Making Data-Driven Recommendations For Improving Inventory Processes.

  • Physical Stamina: Inventory Specialists Often Have To Lift And Move Heavy Boxes And Cases Of Wine, So Physical Stamina And The Ability To Work On Their Feet For Extended Periods Of Time Is Important. They Must Also Be Able To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment And Handle Multiple Tasks Simultaneously.
