We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Assistant Wine Buyer to join our team. As an Assistant Wine Buyer, you will work closely with our team of experienced buyers to help curate our extensive wine collection. We are looking for someone with a strong passion for the industry and a desire to further their career in wine buying. If you have a keen palate, a sharp eye for emerging trends, and a drive to provide our customers with the best products, we want to hear from you!

  1. Assist the team of experienced buyers in curating an extensive and diverse collection of wine and spirits.
  2. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, new products, and emerging brands in the wine and spirits market.
  3. Utilize excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with buyers, suppliers, and other team members.
  4. Conduct research and analysis to identify new and unique products that align with company standards and customer preferences.
  5. Assist with product negotiations and contract management with suppliers.
  6. Maintain accurate and organized records of inventory, pricing, and supplier information.
  7. Assist with product tastings and participate in the selection process for new products.
  8. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies for featured products.
  9. Provide exceptional customer service by offering knowledgeable recommendations and answering customer inquiries.
  10. Attend industry events and conferences to stay informed about market trends and network with suppliers.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge And Passion For Wines: A Successful Assistant Wine Buyer Should Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of Various Types Of Wines, Including Regions, Grape Varieties, And Production Methods. They Should Also Have A Genuine Passion For Wine And Be Able To Convey Their Enthusiasm To Customers.

  • Experience In The Wine Industry: Total Wine & More Prefers Candidates With Previous Experience In The Wine Industry, Such As Working In A Retail Or Restaurant Setting, Or In A Wine Distributor Or Producer. This Experience Helps To Familiarize The Assistant Wine Buyer With Industry Trends, Customer Preferences, And Sourcing Wines.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Assistant Wine Buyer, You Will Be Interacting With Customers, Vendors, And Other Team Members. Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Essential To Effectively Convey Information About Wines And Build Relationships With Stakeholders.

  • Analytical And Organizational Abilities: The Assistant Wine Buyer Is Responsible For Managing Inventory, Analyzing Sales Data, And Selecting Products That Align With The Company's Goals. Strong Analytical Skills Are Necessary To Identify Trends And Make Data-Driven Decisions. Additionally, Organizational Skills Are Crucial In Managing Multiple Tasks And Deadlines.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Total Wine & More Is A Rapidly Growing Company, And The Assistant Wine Buyer Will Be Expected To Keep Up With The Fast-Paced And Dynamic Nature Of The Business.
