Are you passionate about the world of wine and have a knack for selecting the perfect bottle for any occasion? Do you have a keen eye for trends and a nose for quality? Total Wine & More is seeking an Assistant Wine Buyer to join our team of wine enthusiasts and industry experts. As the Assistant Wine Buyer, you will work closely with our Senior Wine Buyer to curate a diverse and exceptional collection of wines for our customers. We are looking for a motivated and knowledgeable individual who is eager to learn and grow in the wine industry.   1. Collaborate with Senior Wine Buyer to identify and source new and unique wines from all over the world to add to our collection.
  2. Conduct market research and stay up-to-date on industry trends and consumer preferences.
  3. Attend wine tastings and trade shows to expand product knowledge and network with suppliers.
  4. Assist in negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing for our customers.
  5. Help develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and efficient product delivery.
  6. Work closely with the marketing team to promote and highlight featured wines and special events.
  7. Participate in the development of promotional and marketing strategies to increase sales and customer engagement.
  8. Monitor inventory levels and work with the operations team to ensure proper stock levels are maintained.
  9. Assist in the creation of training materials and provide training to store associates on new and featured wines.
  10. Continuously evaluate and analyze sales data to make informed decisions on product selection and pricing.
  11. Respond to customer inquiries and provide expert recommendations and assistance in selecting the perfect wine for any occasion.
  12. Stay informed of all legal and regulatory requirements related to the sale and promotion of alcohol.
  13. Maintain a clean and organized workspace and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge Of Wine Industry: A Successful Assistant Wine Buyer At Total Wine & More Should Have A Solid Understanding Of The Wine Industry, Including Different Types Of Wine, Regions, And Production Methods.

  • Strong Analytical Skills: This Role Requires The Ability To Analyze Sales Data, Market Trends, And Consumer Preferences To Make Informed Purchasing Decisions.

  • Familiarity With Inventory Management: The Assistant Wine Buyer Will Be Responsible For Managing Inventory Levels, Tracking Product Availability, And Ensuring Timely Restocking Of Popular Items.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Liaison Between Suppliers And The Company, The Assistant Wine Buyer Must Possess Strong Communication Skills To Negotiate Pricing And Build Relationships With Vendors.
