
Crisis Support Specialist - Living Room - Substitute

- Provide crisis intervention and support services to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.
- Assess and prioritize the needs of individuals in crisis and develop appropriate interventions and support plans.
- Utilize effective communication skills to de-escalate crisis situations and promote a sense of safety and calm for clients.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the most comprehensive and effective care for clients.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and progress towards goals.
- Connect clients with appropriate resources and referrals to meet their ongoing mental health needs.
- Implement crisis prevention and intervention techniques to ensure the safety of clients and staff.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to individuals in crisis, helping them to cope and develop coping skills for future situations.
- Continuously assess and monitor the progress and needs of clients, adjusting interventions and plans as necessary.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions with clients and staff.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Attend trainings and meetings to enhance knowledge and skills in crisis intervention and mental health support.

Experience In Crisis Intervention And Support: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Previous Experience In Providing Crisis Support To Individuals In A Mental Health Setting. This Could Include Experience Working In A Crisis Hotline, Crisis Stabilization Unit, Or Other Mental Health Crisis Intervention Programs.
Knowledge Of Mental Health Disorders And Treatment: A Crisis Support Specialist At Thresholds Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Mental Health Disorders, Their Symptoms, And Treatment Options. This Knowledge Will Be Crucial In Providing Effective Support To Individuals In Crisis.
Ability To De-Escalate And Manage Crisis Situations: The Job Of A Crisis Support Specialist Requires The Ability To Remain Calm And Composed In High-Stress Situations. Candidates Should Have Experience In De-Escalating Crisis Situations And Managing Challenging Behaviors.
