  1. Procurement of laboratory equipment: The Procurement Specialist III will be responsible for the procurement of scientific equipment for Thermo Fisher Scientific. This includes sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing equipment from suppliers.
  2. Supply management: The Procurement Specialist III will be responsible for managing the supply of laboratory equipment for the company. This includes monitoring inventory levels, identifying potential supply chain issues, and implementing solutions to ensure a steady supply of equipment.
  3. Vendor management: The Procurement Specialist III will be responsible for managing relationships with equipment suppliers. This includes evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating contracts and pricing, and ensuring timely delivery of equipment.
  4. Budget management: The Procurement Specialist III will be responsible for managing the budget for equipment procurement. This includes identifying cost-saving opportunities, negotiating pricing, and ensuring purchases stay within budget.
  5. Quality control: The Procurement Specialist III will be responsible for ensuring the quality of laboratory equipment purchased meets Thermo Fisher Scientific's standards. This includes performing quality control checks, reviewing product specifications, and resolving any quality issues that arise.
  6. Market research: The Procurement Specialist III will be responsible for staying up-to-date with market trends and new developments in scientific equipment. This includes researching potential new suppliers and equipment options to ensure Thermo Fisher Scientific is using the most advanced and cost-effective equipment.
  7. Cross-functional collaboration: The Procurement Specialist III will work closely with other departments, such as R&D and Operations, to understand their equipment needs and ensure that equipment purchases align with company goals and objectives.
  8. Compliance: The Procurement Specialist III will ensure all equipment purchases are in compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as any relevant laws and regulations.
  9. Performance tracking: The Procurement Specialist III will be responsible for tracking and reporting on the performance of equipment suppliers, as well as the overall effectiveness of the procurement process.
  10. Continuous improvement: The Procurement Specialist III will be expected to continuously improve and streamline the procurement process, identifying areas for improvement

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Or Related Field.

  • Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Work Independently And In A Team Environment.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Procurement And Supply Chain Management, Preferably In The Life Sciences Industry.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Laboratory Equipment And Supplies, Including Understanding Of Technical Specifications And Vendor Relationships.

  • Experience With Negotiating Contracts And Managing Vendor Relationships To Ensure Cost-Effective And Timely Procurement.
