- Explain the responsibilities and duties of the EHS Co-op Program/Intern role.
- Screen and review resumes and applications to identify candidates who meet the qualifications and requirements for the position.
- Conduct interviews and assess candidates' skills, qualifications, and potential fit within the EHS team.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for selected candidates, including completing necessary paperwork and setting up training and orientation.
- Collaborate with the EHS team to develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging co-op program that provides valuable hands-on experience and exposure to various EHS functions.
- Assign tasks and projects to co-op students and interns, ensuring they are challenging, relevant, and aligned with their career goals.
- Monitor and track the progress of co-op students and interns, providing guidance, feedback, and support as needed.
- Create and maintain a positive and inclusive work environment for all co-op students and interns, promoting diversity and teamwork.
- Plan and coordinate events, workshops, and presentations to enhance the learning experience and professional development of co-op students and interns.
- Act as a mentor and resource for co-op students and interns, offering guidance and advice on their career goals and aspirations.
- Conduct performance evaluations for co-op students and interns, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
- Communicate regularly with co-op students, interns, and their supervisors to ensure a successful and fulfilling experience for all parties involved.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the EHS co-op program to meet the changing needs of the organization and the development of co-op students and interns.
Strong Understanding Of Occupational Health And Safety Regulations: The Ehs Co-Op/Intern Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Regulations Related To Workplace Safety, Hazardous Materials Handling, And Environmental Protection.
Knowledge Of Ehs Management Systems: Thermo Fisher Scientific Uses An Ehs Management System To Identify, Assess, And Control Potential Hazards In The Workplace. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Prior Experience Or Knowledge Of Similar Systems.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Ehs Co-Op/Intern, The Candidate Will Work With Cross-Functional Teams And Must Possess Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Others.
Attention To Detail And Strong Analytical Skills: The Candidate Should Be Detail-Oriented And Possess Strong Analytical Skills To Identify Potential Hazards, Assess Risks, And Develop Effective Solutions.
