- Maintain a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and staff by conducting regular patrols and responding to emergency situations.
- Enforce all federal, state, and local laws as well as university policies and regulations.
- Provide a visible and approachable presence on campus to build relationships with the community and deter criminal activity.
- Communicate effectively with diverse populations and deescalate potentially volatile situations.
- Investigate and report incidents, accidents, and crimes, and gather evidence for potential prosecution.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and university departments to address safety concerns and implement crime prevention initiatives.
- Serve as a first responder for medical emergencies and assist with emergency evacuation procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records and prepare written reports.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and stay current on best practices.
- Uphold the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all interactions with members of the campus community.
- Display a high level of integrity and ethical behavior in all aspects of the job.
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor for students, promoting a safe and respectful campus culture.
Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice Or Related Field From An Accredited University.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Law Enforcement, Preferably In A Campus Or Urban Environment.
Successful Completion Of A Certified Police Academy And State Certification As A Police Officer.
Excellent Physical Fitness And Ability To Pass A Rigorous Physical Agility Test.
Strong Communication Skills And Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Populations, Including Students, Faculty, Staff, And Community Members.
