- Provide exceptional patient care in the field of Rheumatology, utilizing the latest evidence-based practices and techniques.
- Teach and mentor medical students and residents in the field of Rheumatology, including providing lectures, hands-on training, and clinical supervision.
- Conduct and publish innovative research in the field of Rheumatology, contributing to the advancement of medical knowledge and improving patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients with Rheumatologic conditions.
- Participate in departmental and institutional committees and initiatives related to Rheumatology, contributing to the overall development and growth of the program.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying up-to-date on the latest advancements in the field of Rheumatology.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, research activities, and teaching responsibilities.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in patient care, research, and teaching activities.
- Serve as a representative of the University of New Mexico's School of Medicine and the Internal Medicine department, promoting the institution's mission, values, and goals.
- Collaborate with other faculty members and participate in academic activities, such as journal clubs, case conferences, and grand rounds.
- Engage in community outreach and education initiatives related to Rheumatology, raising awareness and promoting early detection and treatment of Rheumatologic conditions.
- Serve as a role model for medical students and residents, exhibiting a high level of professionalism, empathy, and dedication to patient care.
- Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with colleagues, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations set forth by the University of New Mexico's School of Medicine and the Internal Medicine department.
Board Certification In Internal Medicine And Rheumatology: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Be Board Certified In Both Internal Medicine And Rheumatology, Demonstrating A High Level Of Expertise And Knowledge In Both Fields.
Extensive Clinical Experience: A Strong Candidate Will Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience Practicing As A Physician In The Field Of Rheumatology, With A Focus On Providing Comprehensive Care To Patients With A Wide Range Of Rheumatic Diseases.
Research Experience And Publications: The University Of New Mexico Values A Commitment To Research And Seeks Candidates With A Track Record Of Conducting High-Quality Research And Publishing In Peer-Reviewed Journals. Experience Securing External Funding For Research Projects Is Also Highly Desirable.
Teaching Experience: The Successful Candidate Will Be Expected To Actively Participate In Medical Student And Resident Education, Therefore, Experience Teaching In An Academic Setting Is Highly Desired. This Can Include Lectures, Small Group Teaching, And Mentorship Of Trainees.
