- Greet and welcome students, faculty, and visitors to the University of New Mexico library in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist library patrons with locating and checking out materials, including books, media, and electronic resources.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, resolving issues, and directing patrons to appropriate resources or staff members.
- Maintain the overall organization and functionality of the library by shelving and organizing materials, ensuring proper signage, and keeping workspaces tidy.
- Process and maintain library materials, including checking in and out, cataloging, and updating records.
- Collaborate with other library staff to develop and implement resources and services that meet the needs of the diverse student body.
- Serve as a resource for patrons by providing instruction on how to use library equipment and resources.
- Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of library equipment, including computers, printers, and scanners.
- Stay up-to-date with library policies, procedures, and services in order to provide accurate information to patrons.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment by working collaboratively with other library staff and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions to stay informed about library updates and developments.
- Complete other duties and projects as assigned by the Access Services Manager or other library administrators.

Excellent Customer Service Skills: A Library Assistant At The University Of New Mexico Must Possess Strong Interpersonal Skills And The Ability To Provide Top-Notch Customer Service To Students, Faculty, And Staff.
Knowledge Of Library Systems And Procedures: The Ideal Candidate Should Be Familiar With Library Systems And Procedures, Including Circulation, Reserves, And Interlibrary Loan Processes.
