Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team at The University of Kansas as the Associate/Full Professor and Director of Jayhawk Athletic Performance Laboratory. This individual will play a crucial role in leading and managing our state-of-the-art laboratory, which serves as a vital resource for our university's athletic programs.   1. Lead and manage the Jayhawk Athletic Performance Laboratory, ensuring its smooth and efficient operation.
  2. Oversee and direct all research activities within the laboratory, including designing studies, collecting and analyzing data, and disseminating findings.
  3. Collaborate with university athletic programs to develop and implement effective training and performance enhancement strategies for student-athletes.
  4. Provide leadership and mentorship to laboratory staff, including graduate students and research assistants.
  5. Maintain and upgrade equipment and technology within the laboratory to ensure cutting-edge and high-quality research.
  6. Develop and manage the laboratory's budget, including securing external funding through grants and partnerships.
  7. Represent the laboratory and the university at conferences, workshops, and other professional events.
  8. Foster collaborations and partnerships with other departments and institutions to further the laboratory's research goals.
  9. Teach courses related to exercise science and athletic performance, as well as supervise student research projects.
  10. Contribute to the university's academic community through service, such as serving on committees and participating in outreach programs.
  11. Ensure compliance with ethical and safety protocols in all laboratory activities.
  12. Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the laboratory's operations.
  13. Stay current with developments and advancements in the field of exercise science and athletic performance, and incorporate them into the laboratory's research and practices.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Collegiate Athletic Performance Training, Preferably At The Division I Level.

  • Demonstrated Success In Developing And Implementing Performance Training Programs For Student-Athletes.

  • Strong Leadership And Management Skills, With The Ability To Oversee A Team Of Performance Coaches And Support Staff.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Current Trends And Advancements In Athletic Performance Training, As Well As Experience With Data Analysis And Technology Integration.
