  1. Lead and oversee the academic operations of the university as an Assistant Dean, working closely with the Dean and other university leaders to ensure the success of students and the institution as a whole.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to enhance the academic experience for students, including curriculum development, program evaluation, and student success initiatives.
  3. Foster a culture of excellence by setting high standards for academic performance and providing support and resources for faculty and staff to achieve these standards.
  4. Serve as a role model and mentor for students, faculty, and staff, promoting a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
  5. Collaborate with other university departments to coordinate resources and support services for students, including academic advising, career services, and extracurricular activities.
  6. Ensure compliance with university policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, in all academic operations.
  7. Manage and allocate the budget for academic programs, making strategic decisions to maximize resources and support the university's goals.
  8. Engage in outreach and recruitment efforts to attract and retain talented students and faculty.
  9. Participate in university committees and task forces, providing valuable input and representing the academic interests of the university.
  10. Stay current with trends and issues in higher education, implementing best practices and innovative approaches to continuously improve the academic experience at the University of Kansas.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In A Relevant Field, Such As Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Or Leadership.

  • At Least 5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Position Within A Higher Education Setting, Preferably At A Large University.

  • Demonstrated Experience With Budget Management And Fiscal Responsibility.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate And Build Relationships With Diverse Stakeholders.

  • Knowledge Of And Commitment To Diversity, Equity, And Inclusion Principles, With A Track Record Of Promoting And Supporting Inclusive Environments For Students And Staff.
