Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated PRN Phlebotomist to join The University of Kansas Health System team! In this role, you will be responsible for safely and accurately collecting blood specimens from patients. The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent phlebotomy skills, a strong work ethic, and be passionate about providing exceptional patient care. The successful candidate should also have a minimum of two years of phlebotomy experience, be certified as a Phlebotomy Technician, and have a valid driver’s license.   1. Collect blood specimens from patients in a safe and accurate manner.
  2. Ensure that specimens are collected in compliance with established procedures and protocols.
  3. Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy in documentation.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  5. Adhere to all safety regulations and HIPAA regulations.
  6. Ensure proper labeling of specimens and timely delivery of specimens to the laboratory.
  7. Prepare and track patient specimens for laboratory testing.
  8. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with patients and staff.
  9. Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with patients.
  10. Assist in training new phlebotomists.
