Job Description

We are currently looking for a passionate and highly motivated Registered Nurse to join our Behavioral Health & Psych RN team at The University of Kansas Health System. In this role, you will provide specialized care for adults with mental health and substance abuse issues. You must be committed to delivering quality care in a patient-centered environment. To be successful, you will need to possess a combination of technical acumen, clinical knowledge, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a current Kansas nursing license. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide specialized care for adults with mental health and substance abuse issues.
  2. Maintain patient-centered environment.
  3. Utilize technical acumen, clinical knowledge, and excellent communication skills.
  4. Monitor and assess patient progress.
  5. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with approved protocols.
  6. Develop individualized plans of care for each patient.
  7. Provide support and guidance to family members and caregivers.
  8. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
  9. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  10. Follow all policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree

  • Current Valid Rn License

  • Previous Experience In Behavioral Health And/Or Psychiatric Nursing

  • Ability To Interact With And Provide Care To Adults Of Various Ages And Backgrounds

  • Proficiency In Administering Medications
