Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Physician - Psychiatry (Pain Psychologist) at The University of Kansas Health System to join our team and provide high-quality comprehensive mental health services to patients. Working with an interdisciplinary healthcare team, this position will focus on the diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues related to chronic pain, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and implementation of psychotherapeutic interventions. We are looking for an individual who is committed to providing excellent patient care, is dedicated to team collaboration, has a desire for professional development, and is interested in contributing to the growth and development of our health system.The ideal candidate for this position will possess a medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited school, be board certified in psychiatry, and have a specialty in pain psychology. Additionally, the successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience providing mental health services, possess a current and valid license to practice medicine in the state of Kansas, and be well-versed in the principles and practices of modern psychiatry. We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, and an unwavering commitment to professional ethics. Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnose and treat mental health issues related to chronic pain, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and implementation of psychotherapeutic interventions.

  4. Maintain a current and valid license to practice medicine in the state of Kansas.
