Job Description

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide support to our medical staff to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our clinic. You will be responsible for coordinating patient care, providing assistance in the examination and treatment of patients, and performing medical office tasks. We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated, dependable, and able to work well in a team setting. To be a successful Medical Assistant, you must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a current Medical Assistant certification, and at least one year of medical office experience. Additionally, you should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to multi-task and prioritize, and a strong attention to detail. Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate patient care and provide assistance in the examination and treatment of patients
  2. Perform medical office tasks such as scheduling appointments, documenting patient information, and obtaining medical records
  3. Maintain patient confidentiality as required by law
  4. Assist medical staff in providing patient care and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the clinic
  5. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  6. Multi-task and prioritize effectively
  7. Pay close attention to detail
  8. Maintain current Medical Assistant certification and comply with all state and federal regulations
  9. Complete other duties as assigned by medical staff
