Job Description

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to join our Fertility Clinic team as a Medical Assistant. This position requires a compassionate and organized professional to provide exceptional patient care and support to our Fertility Center patients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and a dedication to excellence that exceeds expectations.The successful candidate will be a graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program with a minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a Fertility Clinic setting. A current Medical Assistant certification and current CPR certification is also required. The Medical Assistant must possess excellent communication and customer service skills and have the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities are also necessary. Previous experience with electronic medical records and computer systems is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist physicians in performing medical procedures and treatments such as ultrasounds, blood draws, and laboratory tests.
  2. Provide patient education regarding fertility treatments and medications.
  3. Maintain patient records in accordance with standards of care and HIPAA regulations.
  4. Monitor and document patient progress and follow-up.
  5. Assist in scheduling appointments for patients.
  6. Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner.
  7. Answer phones and direct calls to the appropriate personnel.
  8. Ensure a clean and well-stocked exam room.
  9. Assist with patient billing and insurance information.
  10. Maintain accurate inventory of medical supplies.
