Job Description

The University of Kansas Health System is looking for an experienced and highly-skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our world-renowned team. This individual must be passionate about providing excellent patient care and helping us achieve our mission of providing exceptional healthcare to our community. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in diagnostic medical sonography and a commitment to providing high-quality patient-centered care.The successful candidate will have an Associate’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field, and a minimum of two years of experience in the field is preferred. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a current certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and must possess excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, as well as a commitment to continuing education in the field.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform diagnostic medical sonography examinations on patients in order to obtain images necessary for diagnosis.
  2. Review patient medical history and other relevant information prior to performing examinations.
  3. Obtain and record patient information and measurements necessary for diagnosis.
  4. Monitor and adjust sonographic equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  5. Work collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure quality patient care.
  6. Maintain patient records and documentation of examinations in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
  7. Follow safety and infection control protocols in order to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  8. Keep up to date with the latest advances in the field of diagnostic medical sonography through continuing education and professional development activities.
  9. Provide exceptional patient-centered care while maintaining a compassionate and professional environment.
