Job Description

The University of Kansas Health System is currently seeking a highly-skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team of medical professionals. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will provide nutrition-related services to patients of all ages in order to optimize their health and wellbeing. This position requires a deep understanding of nutrition, a passion for helping others, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. If you are a compassionate and knowledgeable dietitian who is looking to make a difference in the lives of others, then this may be the perfect opportunity for you!Minimum qualifications for the Clinical Dietitian role include a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field, plus one year of current healthcare nutrition experience. Additionally, you must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and be in good standing with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). The ideal candidate will also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, sound decision-making abilities, and the aptitude to quickly learn and apply new ideas.

Responsibilities of a Clinical Dietitian:

  1. Develop nutrition plans and provide nutrition counseling to patients of all ages.
  2. Assess patients’ nutrition needs and provide guidance on nutritional intake.
  3. Educate patients and their families on the importance of a healthy diet and lifestyle.
  4. Monitor patients’ progress and adjust nutrition plans as needed.
  5. Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals to ensure patients receive comprehensive care.
  6. Maintain patient records and document nutrition services provided.
  7. Keep up to date on current nutrition research and trends.
  8. Participate in community outreach activities to promote proper nutrition.
  9. Adhere to all professional and ethical standards.
