Job Description

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Chargemaster Internal Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of clinical charge capture, charge description master (CDM), and charge reconciliation processes, with the ability to identify coding and billing errors that impact reimbursement.This position provides an exciting opportunity to help improve the accuracy of our charge capture process, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will possess strong problem-solving and communication skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.Required qualifications for this role include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, along with 3+ years of experience in a healthcare setting in a finance, accounting, or coding role. Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze and review charge description master (CDM) and charge reconciliation processes to identify coding and billing errors.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to improve the accuracy of the charge capture process.
  3. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
  4. Provide strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  5. Work both independently and collaboratively.
  6. Research and analyze data to identify trends and develop solutions.
  7. Develop and maintain effective relationships with other departments and stakeholders.
  8. Prepare and present reports as needed.
  9. Assist in the development of educational materials for staff and providers.
  10. Monitor charge capture processes and recommend improvements.
