Clinic Phlebotomist

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinic Phlebotomist to join our team. The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications: a high school diploma or GED; a minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting; excellent communication skills; experience working with a diverse patient population; and a current certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT). The successful candidate will be a team player and be able to work with minimal supervision. Responsibilities:

• Obtain blood specimens from patients in a safe and efficient manner
• Follow proper procedures for specimen collection, preparation, and labeling
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
• Provide accurate patient information to the laboratory
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a neat and organized manner
• Assist in the maintenance of inventory control for supplies
• Assist with the orientation and training of new Phlebotomy staff
• Maintain records of patient care services
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills when interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
• Maintain a professional and ethical demeanor at all times
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
