
Clinic Phlebotomist
The University of Kansas Health System is seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinic Phlebotomist to join our team. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about providing the highest level of patient care and service, and who is dedicated to upholding our organization’s commitment to excellence in healthcare. The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications: a high school diploma or GED; a minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting; excellent communication skills; experience working with a diverse patient population; and a current certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT). The successful candidate will be a team player and be able to work with minimal supervision. Responsibilities:
- Obtain blood specimens from patients in a safe and efficient manner
- Follow proper procedures for specimen collection, preparation, and labeling
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Provide accurate patient information to the laboratory
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a neat and organized manner
- Assist in the maintenance of inventory control for supplies
- Assist with the orientation and training of new Phlebotomy staff
- Maintain records of patient care services
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills when interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain a professional and ethical demeanor at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
High School Diploma Or Ged
Successful Completion Of The American Society Of Phlebotomy Technicians (Aspt) Exam
Valid Driver's License
