Job Description

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator to join our team. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about helping others and has a background in psychology or counseling. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be able to work independently, and have the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable about behavioral health and is comfortable interacting with patients and colleagues in a professional manner. The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field and at least two years of related experience. Responsibilities:

  1. Interview patients to assess their behavioral health needs and provide initial recommendations.
  2. Utilize strong communication and problem-solving skills to assist patients and colleagues.
  3. Maintain patient records, document patient progress, and provide updates to the team.
  4. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to behavioral health.
  5. Develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  6. Monitor patient behavior and progress, providing feedback to the team and making changes as needed.
  7. Collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure patient needs are met.
  8. Work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding behavioral health services.
