Lead a team of engineers in designing and implementing highly scalable solutions to ensure the reliability and uptime of our global advertising technology platform.
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the technology stack to identify potential areas for improvement and implement solutions to increase reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve system and infrastructure issues.
Develop and maintain processes and procedures for incident response, disaster recovery, and system upgrades.
Research and implement industry best practices for reliability engineering and continuously improve processes and systems.
Mentor and provide guidance to team members to develop their skills and ensure their success.
Monitor system performance and proactively identify and address potential issues before they impact the platform.
Work with product and engineering teams to define reliability and availability requirements for new features and products.
Manage and prioritize tasks for the reliability engineering team to ensure the timely and successful delivery of projects.
Stay current with advancements in technology and make recommendations for implementing new tools and processes to improve reliability.
Collaborate with external vendors and partners to ensure the reliability and availability of third-party systems integrated with our platform.
Create and maintain documentation related to system architecture, processes, and procedures.
Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical incidents in a timely manner.
Proactively identify opportunities to optimize system performance and reduce downtime.
Communicate with stakeholders and provide regular updates on system reliability and availability metrics.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree In Engineering Or Related Field: A Manager, Reliability Engineering At The Trade Desk Should Have A Strong Educational Background In Engineering Or A Related Field, Such As Computer Science Or Information Technology. This Will Provide The Necessary Technical Knowledge And Skills To Effectively Manage The Reliability Of The Company's Systems.
Previous Experience In A Similar Role: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience In A Managerial Or Leadership Position Within A Software Engineering Or It Environment. This Experience Should Include Overseeing The Reliability Of Systems And Managing A Team Of Engineers.
Strong Understanding Of Software Development And Infrastructure: A Manager, Reliability Engineering Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Software Development Processes And Infrastructure, Including Knowledge Of Programming Languages, Cloud Computing, And Network Architecture. This Will Enable Them To Effectively Lead And Guide Their Team In Maintaining And Improving The Reliability Of The Company's Systems.
Excellent Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills: Reliability Engineering Requires A Proactive Approach To Identifying And Solving Potential Issues Before They Impact The System. A Manager, Reliability Engineering Should Possess Strong Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills To Effectively Troubleshoot And Resolve Any Issues That May Arise.
Leadership And Communication Skills: As A Manager, This Role Requires Strong Leadership And Communication Skills To Effectively Lead A Team Of Engineers And Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Able To Provide Clear Direction, Delegate Tasks, And Communicate Effectively With Both Technical And Non-Technical Stakeholders.
