  1. Manage and oversee daily operations of the research farm, including crop production, irrigation, equipment maintenance, and animal care.
  2. Collaborate with research team to plan and implement experiments and trials on the farm.
  3. Monitor and record data from experiments, and assist with data analysis and reporting.
  4. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of farm equipment and facilities to ensure proper functioning and safety.
  5. Develop and implement farm policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations, research protocols, and university standards.
  6. Train and supervise farm staff, including assigning tasks, providing guidance and feedback, and conducting performance evaluations.
  7. Maintain accurate records of farm activities, including inventory, budgets, and production reports.
  8. Participate in budget planning and forecasting for the research farm, including identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  9. Keep up-to-date with advancements in agricultural technology and techniques, and make recommendations for their implementation on the farm.
  10. Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication among all members of the research farm team.
  11. Represent the university and the research farm at conferences, workshops, and other events, promoting the work being done and establishing partnerships with other organizations.
  12. Adhere to all university policies and procedures, including those related to research ethics, safety, and diversity and inclusion.
  13. Continuously evaluate and improve farm operations to ensure high quality and impactful research outcomes.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional relationship with stakeholders, including faculty, researchers, students, and external partners.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of The Ohio State University, and promote the university's commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and community engagement.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Agriculture, Plant Science, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Farm Management Or Research Farm Operations.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Crop Production, Soil Management, And Agricultural Equipment.

  • Experience With Data Collection And Analysis, As Well As Ability To Interpret And Present Findings.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Researchers, Staff, And Students.
