- Develop and deliver engaging and innovative courses in health information management and systems to prepare students for successful careers in the healthcare industry.
- Utilize expertise in health information management and systems to enhance the academic program and stay current with industry trends.
- Collaborate with fellow faculty members and industry professionals to continuously improve the academic program.
- Mentor and develop students by providing guidance, support, and opportunities for growth.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in the healthcare industry and incorporate them into teaching methods and course materials.
- Ensure that all course materials and teaching methods are in line with the department and university's standards.
- Participate in departmental meetings and committees to contribute to decision-making and program development.
- Serve as a role model for students by demonstrating professionalism and ethical behavior in all interactions.
- Support the department's mission to educate and prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
- Collaborate with the university's career services to assist students in securing internships and job opportunities in the healthcare industry.
- Encourage and support students in their academic and professional pursuits.
- Continuously assess and evaluate the effectiveness of course materials and teaching methods, and make necessary improvements.
- Maintain a professional and respectful relationship with students, colleagues, and industry professionals.
- Adhere to university policies and procedures, as well as the AHIMA code of ethics.
A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Health Information Management Or A Related Field, Such As Health Informatics Or Healthcare Administration.
Active Certification As A Registered Health Information Administrator (Rhia) Or Registered Health Information Technician (Rhit) Through The American Health Information Management Association (Ahima).
At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience Working In The Field Of Health Information Management, With A Strong Knowledge Of Current Industry Practices And Trends.
Demonstrated Teaching Experience In A University Or Clinical Setting, With A Focus On Health Information Management And Systems Courses.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, As Well As The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Students, Colleagues, And Industry Partners.
