Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team as Summer Camp Counselors. As a counselor, you will have the opportunity to create lasting memories and friendships while leading campers in a variety of fun and educational activities. If you have a passion for working with children and a desire to be part of a dynamic camp community, we want to hear from you!

  1. Supervise and ensure the safety of campers at all times.
  2. Develop and lead engaging and age-appropriate activities for campers.
  3. Foster a positive and inclusive environment for campers to learn and grow.
  4. Serve as a role model and mentor to campers, promoting positive behavior and values.
  5. Communicate effectively with campers, fellow counselors, and camp leadership.
  6. Assist in the planning and execution of daily schedules and special events.
  7. Encourage camper participation and engagement in camp activities.
  8. Maintain cleanliness and organization of camp facilities and equipment.
  9. Follow and enforce all camp policies and procedures.
  10. Attend all required trainings and staff meetings.
  11. Provide support and assistance to campers with special needs or challenges.
  12. Actively promote a sense of community and teamwork among campers and staff.
  13. Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise among campers.
  14. Ensure campers are following proper safety protocols during all activities.
  15. Serve as a positive representative of Camp Recky and The Ohio State University.

Job Qualifications
  • Experience Working With Children: Candidates For The Camp Recky Summer Camp Counselor Job Should Have Prior Experience Working With Children In A Camp Setting Or Other Related Environments. This Could Include Previous Experience As A Camp Counselor, Teacher, Or Youth Program Leader.

  • Knowledge Of Camp Activities And Safety Procedures: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess Knowledge Of Various Camp Activities Such As Hiking, Swimming, Arts And Crafts, And Team-Building Games. They Should Also Be Familiar With Safety Procedures To Ensure The Well-Being Of Campers.

  • Enthusiastic And Energetic Personality: The Camp Recky Summer Camp Counselor Should Have A Positive And Enthusiastic Attitude To Motivate And Engage Campers. They Should Also Have The Energy And Stamina To Keep Up With The Demands Of A Fast-Paced Camp Environment.

  • First Aid And Cpr Certification: The Ohio State University Requires All Camp Recky Summer Camp Counselors To Have Current First Aid And Cpr Certifications. This Is Crucial For Handling Any Emergencies Or Injuries That May Occur During Camp Activities.
