Job Description

The Bank of New York Mellon is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Specialist, Real Estate Fund Accounting to join our Fund Accounting team. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate calculation of net asset values and other financial reporting for our real estate funds. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of strong accounting and analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the drive and initiative to take ownership of their role. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in Fund Accounting or related field. Knowledge of the real estate industry and regulatory requirements is a plus. The candidate should also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Calculate net asset values and other financial reporting for real estate funds in a timely and accurate manner.
  2. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  3. Analyze financial data and identify potential problems.
  4. Maintain and update financial records.
  5. Prepare financial statements and reports.
  6. Monitor and review fund performance.
  7. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  8. Work independently and in a team environment.
  9. Stay up to date on current accounting regulations and industry developments.
