Specialist, External Reporting

We are looking for a Specialist, External Reporting to join The Bank of New York Mellon's External Reporting team. This role requires a high level of knowledge and expertise in financial reporting and analysis, as well as a deep understanding of the financial services industry. The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented, and possess the ability to think critically and solve complex problems.To be considered, you must have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and a minimum of 3 years of experience in financial reporting and analysis. CPA certification is highly preferred. Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and analyze financial reports and statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other applicable regulations.
2. Collaborate with the External Reporting team to ensure accuracy of external financial reporting.
3. Monitor and analyze changes in financial reporting standards and regulations to ensure compliance.
4. Develop and implement processes and controls to ensure accurate and timely external reporting.
5. Assist in the preparation of SEC filings and other regulatory reporting.
6. Provide technical expertise and guidance on accounting and financial reporting matters.
7. Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors and other stakeholders.
8. Identify and analyze the impact of proposed and existing regulations on the organization's financial reporting.
9. Research and respond to external inquiries related to financial statements and other financial information.
10. Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses as needed.
