- Develop and implement a comprehensive government relations strategy for the state of Pennsylvania, in line with the overall business objectives of The Bank of New York Mellon.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and policymakers at the state and local level, including legislators, regulators, and other government officials.
- Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments that may impact the bank's operations in Pennsylvania, and develop strategies to address potential challenges.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify and prioritize key issues and initiatives that require government relations support.
- Represent the bank in meetings, hearings, and other events with government officials, and effectively communicate the bank's position and perspective on relevant issues.
- Develop and maintain a network of industry peers and trade associations to stay informed on industry trends and best practices in government relations.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, briefings, and other materials to educate policymakers and stakeholders about the bank's business and priorities.
- Manage a team of government relations professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's effectiveness and success.
- Continuously assess and improve the bank's government relations strategies and tactics to ensure alignment with business objectives and changing political and regulatory landscapes.
- Stay abreast of industry and regulatory developments and proactively identify potential risks and opportunities for the bank.
- Collaborate with other departments, including legal, compliance, and public relations, to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach to government relations activities.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards in all interactions with government officials and other stakeholders.
- Represent the bank at industry events and conferences to build relationships and enhance the bank's reputation and visibility.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on government relations activities, accomplishments, and challenges.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on government relations matters and provide guidance and support on legislative and regulatory issues impacting the bank.
Bachelor's Degree In Political Science, Public Policy, Business Administration, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In State And Local Government Relations, Preferably In Pennsylvania.
Strong Knowledge Of Pennsylvania Political Landscape And Understanding Of State And Local Legislative And Regulatory Processes.
Proven Track Record Of Successfully Advocating For And Influencing Public Policy At The State And Local Level.
Excellent Communication And Relationship-Building Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Engage With Government Officials, Community Leaders, And Internal Stakeholders.
