Job Description

The Bank of New York Mellon is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Principal, Business Continuity/Recovery to manage the organization's crisis and risk response efforts. This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Bank's business continuity and disaster recovery plans. They will also design, execute, and assess their effectiveness in order to ensure the Bank's ability to resume critical operations in the event of a disruption. The ideal candidate for this role will have an in-depth understanding of the banking industry, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain the Bank's business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  2. Design and execute comprehensive tests of the Bank's crisis and risk response plans.
  3. Assess the effectiveness of the Bank's business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  4. Monitor and review industry trends and best practices related to business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of the Bank's business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  6. Prepare reports and presentations on the Bank's business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  7. Develop and implement strategies to increase the Bank's preparedness for crises and disaster scenarios.
  8. Maintain records of the Bank's crisis and risk response activities.
  9. Create emergency response plans for specific disaster scenarios.
  10. Provide guidance and support to other departments on the Bank's business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
