Job Description

The Bank of New York Mellon is looking for a Fund Accountant to join our team. We are seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to be part of a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The successful candidate should have a strong understanding of the fund accounting process, excellent problem-solving skills, and an eye for detail. If you are dedicated to providing top-notch customer service, have experience in fund accounting, and have a passion for finance, we want to hear from you.Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance• At least 5 years of fund accounting experience• Superior organizational and communication skills• Knowledge of accounting principles and systems• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite• Ability to think analytically and work independently• Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure accurate and timely accounting of fund transactions, including processing cash activity, reconciling all asset classes, and preparing financial statements.
  2. Monitor and analyze fund performance, report on fund performance, and track fund risk.
  3. Review and assess the accuracy of trade settlements, ensuring all transactions are booked correctly.
  4. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all fund activity is appropriately documented and reported.
  5. Act as a primary contact for clients and other external stakeholders, providing timely responses and resolving any queries.
  6. Provide support for audits and regulatory reporting, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  7. Continuously evaluate existing processes and procedures, recommending improvements to streamline operations.
  8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  9. Monitor market changes and adjust fund activity accordingly.
  10. Maintain detailed records and reports of all fund activity.
