
Director, Managing Counsel- Clearance & Collateral Management
The Bank of New York Mellon is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Director, Managing Counsel- Clearance & Collateral Management to join our Legal team. This is a unique opportunity to work on complex and challenging matters related to our global clearance and collateral management operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in securities laws and regulations, along with a proven track record in providing strategic advice on clearance and collateral management operations.We are looking for a candidate with at least 8 years of experience as a securities lawyer, in-house or at a law firm. The successful candidate should also demonstrate a working knowledge of the rules and regulations of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and other regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and be able to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks. The Director, Managing Counsel- Clearance & Collateral Management should embrace a team-oriented, collaborative approach while working with colleagues across the bank. Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic legal advice on clearance and collateral management operations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of U.S. securities laws and regulations.
- Complete multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a timely manner.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the bank.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Prepare and review legal documents related to clearance and collateral management operations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant U.S. laws and regulations.
- Research and analyze legal issues and provide recommendations.
- Participate in internal training and development initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support to junior colleagues.
