  2. Collaborate with engineers and product development teams to understand and document new inventions and innovations.
  3. Draft and file patent applications, including detailed descriptions and claims, to secure intellectual property rights.
  4. Coordinate with legal teams to review and respond to patent office actions and other legal proceedings.
  5. Monitor and manage our patent portfolio, including maintenance and renewal of existing patents.
  6. Conduct regular reviews of competitor patents and industry trends to identify potential opportunities and risks.
  7. Support the development of patent strategies and policies to guide our research and development efforts.
  8. Communicate and educate colleagues on patent laws, regulations, and procedures to ensure compliance.
  9. Stay up-to-date on advancements and changes in intellectual property laws and regulations.
  10. Act as a liaison between different departments, including engineering, legal, and business, to ensure alignment and understanding of patent processes and goals.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree In Engineering Or Related Field: A Patent Engineer At Thales Should Have A Strong Educational Foundation In Engineering Or A Related Field Such As Physics Or Computer Science. This Will Provide The Necessary Technical Knowledge To Understand And Analyze Complex Inventions.

  • Experience With Patent Law And Regulations: Thales Is A Global Company With A Large Patent Portfolio. Therefore, A Patent Engineer Should Have A Good Understanding Of Patent Laws And Regulations In Different Countries, As Well As Experience In Drafting And Prosecuting Patent Applications.

This Requires Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills To Assess The Novelty And Non-Obviousness Of An Invention And Draft Patent Claims That Provide Adequate Protection.

  • Attention To Detail: Patent Applications Require Precise And Detailed Descriptions Of An Invention. A Patent Engineer At Thales Should Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Ensure The Accuracy And Completeness Of The Patent Application, Which Is Crucial For Successful Patent Prosecution.
