- Design and develop innovative tools and equipment for use in our manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and develop solutions that meet those needs.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify new tooling technologies and processes that can improve efficiency and precision.
- Develop and maintain accurate documentation and drawings for all tooling designs.
- Work closely with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues with tooling performance.
- Monitor and evaluate tooling performance to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all tooling designs and processes.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in tooling technology to continuously improve our processes.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians on tooling design and development.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
- Manage tooling budgets and timelines to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for new tooling projects.
- Continuously seek out opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction in tooling design and development.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
- Represent Textron as a tooling expert at industry events and conferences.
Bachelor's Degree In Mechanical Engineering Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Tool Design And Development.
Proficiency In Cad Software, Such As Solidworks Or Autocad.
Knowledge Of Manufacturing Processes And Materials, With A Focus On Metalworking.
Strong Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills, With The Ability To Troubleshoot And Improve Existing Tooling Designs.
