You will be responsible for managing all aspects of litigation, including case strategy, negotiations, and trial preparation. To excel in this role, you must have a strong understanding of litigation processes and procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members. A J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one state is required. Experience in a corporate legal department or law firm handling complex litigation matters is preferred. 1. Serve as the primary point of contact and legal advisor for all litigation matters within the company.
2. Develop and implement effective strategies to manage and defend litigation matters, including case assessment, budgeting, and risk management.
3. Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy and provide guidance to internal stakeholders.
4. Collaborate with outside counsel and manage their performance to ensure efficient and cost-effective representation.
5. Prepare and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
6. Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation or alternative dispute resolution processes as necessary.
7. Represent the company in court proceedings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
8. Keep abreast of changes in laws, regulations, and industry developments that may impact litigation matters.
9. Communicate with internal stakeholders, including senior management and business units, regarding litigation risks and developments.
10. Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, industry associations, and legal professionals.
11. Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on legal matters and risk management.
12. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to litigation matters.
13. Manage and maintain accurate records and documentation related to litigation matters.
14. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures related to litigation management.
15. Uphold the company's values and culture by promoting ethical and responsible behavior in all aspects of work.
