Job Description

Tetra Tech is looking for a highly motivated GIS Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, manipulating, and managing geographic information systems (GIS) data and providing technical GIS support. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical GIS skills, a collaborative attitude, and a passion for making a difference for our clients. The successful applicant will have a solid understanding of GIS principles, database management, and software applications. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field, as well as prior experience working with GIS, especially ArcGIS or other ESRI software. Responsibilities:

  1. Create, manipulate, and manage GIS data and provide technical GIS support.
  2. Develop and maintain GIS applications, databases, and data quality standards.
  3. Utilize GIS principles, database management, and software applications to analyze and interpret data.
  4. Produce maps, reports, and presentations to communicate GIS results to stakeholders.
  5. Develop and support web mapping applications.
  6. Provide customer service and support to clients.
  7. Manage GIS projects and coordinate with other teams.
  8. Keep up to date with industry trends and technologies.
  9. Develop and implement GIS policies and procedures.
  10. Troubleshoot GIS problems and provide technical support to colleagues.
