GIS Technician

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced and motivated GIS Technician to join our team. This role requires a background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and the ability to think critically and solve problems. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning and applying new technologies and have the desire to work in a dynamic and innovative environment.The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a passion for providing excellent customer service. They must be able to work independently and as part of a team. The GIS Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to GIS data management, data entry, and analysis.Required qualifications include: a Bachelor’s degree in GIS, geography, or a related field; experience with GIS software, such as ESRI ArcGIS, Global Mapper, and QGIS; strong knowledge of GIS data formats; excellent communication and problem-solving skills; and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

1. Create, maintain, and manage GIS datasets.
2. Utilize GIS software such as ESRI ArcGIS, Global Mapper, and QGIS to manipulate, analyze, and visualize data.
3. Perform spatial analysis of GIS data to support project objectives.
4. Input and maintain high-quality GIS data.
5. Develop and maintain GIS databases.
6. Create maps and other visualizations.
7. Conduct field data collection using GPS devices and mobile GIS.
8. Produce detailed reports and presentations.
9. Troubleshoot GIS software and hardware issues as needed.
10. Provide excellent customer service when responding to GIS related inquiries.
