Environment, Health, & Safety (EHS) Intern

Sysco is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working Environment, Health, & Safety (EHS) Intern to join our team. This individual will have a passion for environmental stewardship, health and safety, and be excited to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to learning, a keen eye for detail, and be able to think strategically and proactively to identify and mitigate safety and environmental risks. The EHS Intern will have the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in EHS compliance and operations, and work closely with the EHS team to support Sysco’s commitment to environmental stewardship and safety.Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field• Previous experience with environmental and safety regulations• Knowledge of safety and health practices and management systems• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple tasks at once

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.
2. Monitor safety and environmental risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
3. Assist the EHS team in developing and implementing safety and environmental policies and procedures.
4. Maintain accurate records of safety and environmental inspections and observations.
5. Research and review relevant safety and environmental regulations.
6. Develop, maintain, and update safety and environmental management systems.
7. Prepare reports and presentations related to safety and environmental compliance.
8. Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure compliance and safety.
9. Participate in safety and environmental training programs.
10. Provide support to other EHS team members as needed.
