- Greet and welcome patients and visitors to the unit in a warm and friendly manner.
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate staff members.
- Respond to patient and visitor inquiries and provide information in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain and update patient records, ensuring all information is accurate and confidential.
- Schedule and coordinate appointments for patients, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
- Assist nursing staff with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and organizing patient charts.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing team, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate patient care.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of office supplies and order as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all equipment is in working order.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including privacy and confidentiality guidelines.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on hospital protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with other unit secretaries to ensure a cohesive and efficient team.
- Provide support to patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to enhance the overall patient experience.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education
Completion Of A Recognized Unit Secretary Training Program Or 1 Year Of Experience As A Unit Secretary In A Healthcare Setting
Proficiency In Medical Terminology And Basic Computer Skills
Strong Organizational And Multitasking Abilities
