- Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and supplies for procedures according to established protocols and standards.
- Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and medications as needed.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available.
- Maintain a sterile field at all times during surgical procedures to prevent infection and promote patient safety.
- Monitor and record vital signs of patients before, during, and after surgery.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient positioning and draping is done correctly and safely.
- Troubleshoot equipment and instrumentation issues and report any malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of procedures, instruments used, and supplies utilized.
- Participate in the care and transport of surgical specimens to the laboratory for analysis.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families before, during, and after procedures.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through participation in training and continuing education opportunities.
- Assist with the orientation and training of new surgical technicians and students.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude while working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technician Program: Candidates For This Position Should Have Completed An Accredited Surgical Technician Program And Hold A Certificate Or Diploma In Surgical Technology.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In A Surgical Setting: The Ideal Candidate Will Have At Least 3 Years Of Experience Working As A Surgical Technician In A Hospital, Ambulatory Surgery Center, Or Other Healthcare Facility.
