  1. Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and maintaining a sterile field.
  2. Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical equipment and supplies.
  3. Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and maintain a high level of readiness during procedures.
  4. Ensure the safety and comfort of patients before, during, and after surgery.
  5. Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment.
  6. Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other team members to coordinate patient care.
  7. Properly handle and dispose of surgical instruments and supplies.
  8. Monitor and maintain surgical equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  9. Document and maintain accurate records of surgical procedures.
  10. Assist with patient positioning and transfer throughout the surgical process.
  11. Provide emotional support to patients and their families during the surgical experience.
  12. Stay updated on the latest surgical techniques and procedures to deliver the highest quality of care.
  13. Adhere to all hospital and regulatory guidelines and policies.
  14. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective workflow.
  15. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times.
  16. Participate in on-call and emergency surgeries as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification Or Licensure As A Surgical Technologist: Applicants For A Surgical Technician Position At Sutter Health Must Possess A Valid Certification Or License As A Surgical Technologist From An Accredited Program.

  • Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Surgical Procedures, Including Sterile Techniques, Surgical Instrumentation, And Patient Positioning.

  • Experience In A Surgical Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Surgical Setting, Either In A Hospital Or Outpatient Surgery Center, Is Preferred For This Role.

  • Ability To Handle High-Stress Situations: Surgical Technicians Must Be Able To Remain Calm And Focused In Fast-Paced And High-Stress Surgical Environments.

  • Attention To Detail And Strong Communication Skills: As A Crucial Member Of The Surgical Team, Surgical Technicians Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail And Strong Communication Skills To Effectively Communicate With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
