  1. Assist surgeons and medical staff during surgical procedures to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  2. Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and supplies, ensuring they are sterile and in working condition.
  3. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide them with necessary instruments and supplies.
  4. Monitor patient vital signs and ensure their safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
  5. Help position and prepare patients for surgery, following proper positioning techniques.
  6. Communicate effectively with the surgical team and provide necessary updates during the procedure.
  7. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to maintain a clean and safe surgical environment.
  8. Participate in the pre-operative and post-operative care of patients, including dressing changes and wound care.
  9. Document accurately and promptly in patient records, including surgical procedures and patient vitals.
  10. Continuously update knowledge and skills through training and education to stay current with industry advancements and best practices.
  11. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
  12. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients and their families.
  13. Proactively identify potential issues and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions during surgeries.
  14. Follow all hospital policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
  15. Demonstrate a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care and maintaining the highest quality of services.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technician Program: Candidates Should Have Completed A Formal Education Program From An Accredited Institution To Ensure They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills For The Role.

  • Certification As A Surgical Technician: Sutter Health May Require Candidates To Have A Valid Certification As A Surgical Technician From A Recognized Organization, Such As The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).

  • Previous Experience In A Surgical Setting: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Surgery Technician In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting. This Experience Helps Ensure They Are Familiar With Surgical Procedures, Equipment, And Safety Protocols.

  • Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures And Equipment: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Surgical Procedures And The Equipment Used In The Operating Room. This Includes Knowledge Of Sterilization Techniques, Surgical Instruments, And Operating Room Setup.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Surgery Technician, Candidates Will Be Working Closely With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Therefore, Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential To Ensure Smooth And Efficient Surgical Procedures.
