
Sterile Processing Technician

- Perform daily cleaning and sterilization of surgical equipment and instruments according to established protocols and standards.
- Inspect, assemble, and package surgical instruments and equipment for sterilization.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of sterile supplies and equipment, restocking as needed.
- Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines to ensure a sterile and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with surgical team to ensure that all necessary instruments and equipment are available for procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all sterilization procedures and equipment maintenance.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform basic repairs or escalate to appropriate personnel.
- Stay up-to-date with current sterilization techniques and equipment, implementing any necessary changes or updates.
- Train and mentor new Sterile Processing Technicians to ensure they are following proper procedures and protocols.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and work collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team.
- Follow all hospital and departmental policies and procedures, including safety regulations.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Sterile Processing Technician At Sutter Health Must Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Its Equivalent To Be Considered For The Job. This Ensures That The Applicant Has A Basic Level Of Education And The Necessary Skills To Perform The Job.
Certification In Sterile Processing: Sutter Health Requires All Sterile Processing Technicians To Be Certified Through An Accredited Program Such As The Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Crcst) Or The Certified Sterile Processing And Distribution Technician (Cspdt).
