We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Staff Nurse to join our team in the role of Psych Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Nurse. As an ECT Nurse, you will play a crucial role in the treatment of patients with mental health conditions, utilizing cutting-edge technology and evidence-based practices.   1. Conduct patient assessments: Perform thorough evaluations of patients' mental health conditions, medical history, and current symptoms to determine if they are suitable candidates for ECT treatment.
  2. Administer ECT treatment: Prepare patients for ECT treatment, administer proper anesthesia and muscle relaxants, and monitor them during and after the procedure to ensure their safety.
  3. Monitor patient progress: Monitor patients' response to ECT treatment, assess any adverse effects, and make necessary adjustments to the treatment plan in collaboration with the treating physician.
  4. Educate patients and families: Provide education to patients and their families about ECT treatment, its benefits and potential risks, and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
  5. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team: Work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  6. Maintain accurate documentation: Record patients' progress, treatment plans, and any changes in their condition in electronic medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  7. Adhere to safety protocols: Follow strict safety protocols and procedures to prevent any harm to patients, staff, or self during ECT treatment.
  8. Stay updated on current practices: Stay informed about the latest advancements and evidence-based practices in ECT treatment and incorporate them into daily practice.
  9. Provide emotional support: Offer emotional support and comfort to patients before, during, and after treatment, as ECT can be a stressful and daunting experience for some individuals.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives: Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of ECT treatment and ensure patient satisfaction.
  11. Attend training and meetings: Attend training sessions, workshops, and meetings to stay updated on hospital policies, procedures, and best practices related to ECT treatment.
  12. Adhere to ethical and legal standards: Adhere to ethical and legal standards, including the nursing code of ethics and state regulations, in all aspects of patient care and

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field

  • Current Rn License In The State Of Practice

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Psychiatric Nursing Or Electroconvulsive Therapy

  • Knowledge Of Ect Procedures, Equipment, And Patient Monitoring

  • Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Provide Compassionate Care To Patients With Mental Health Disorders.
