  1. Provide expert lactation support and guidance to new mothers and their babies.
  2. Promote the health and well-being of both mother and child through education and support.
  3. Utilize a strong understanding of lactation principles to assist patients in achieving successful breastfeeding.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions and progress.

  7. Continuously assess and monitor the physical, emotional, and educational needs of patients and their families.
  8. Serve as a resource and advocate for breastfeeding within the hospital and community.
  9. Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in lactation support and incorporate them into patient care.
  10. Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure high-quality and safe patient care.
  11. Provide emotional support and counseling to new mothers as they navigate the challenges of breastfeeding.
  12. Participate in ongoing professional development and training to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
  13. Foster a positive and compassionate environment for patients and their families.
  14. Act as a role model for best nursing practices and promote a culture of excellence within the Lactation department.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field

  • Current Rn License In The State Of California

  • Certification As A Lactation Consultant (Ibclc)

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Maternal/Child Health Or Lactation Support

  • Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices And Guidelines For Breastfeeding And Infant Nutrition
