  1. Provide exceptional and compassionate care to newborns and their families in the NICU.
  2. Administer medication, monitor vital signs, and provide treatments as directed by physicians.
  3. Monitor and assess newborns' conditions, noting any changes and reporting to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for each patient.
  5. Educate and support parents and family members on newborn care and provide emotional support during difficult times.
  6. Maintain accurate and thorough medical records and documentation.
  7. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  8. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
  9. Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard.
  10. Maintain a positive and professional attitude, promoting a welcoming and supportive environment for patients, families, and colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Typically Required For A Registered Nurse Position In The Neonatal Icu At Sutter Health. This Degree Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Clinical Skills.

  • Valid Rn License In The State Of California: All Registered Nurses At Sutter Health Must Hold A Valid Registered Nurse License In The State Of California. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Qualified To Practice Nursing In This State.

  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu) Experience: Sutter Health Is Seeking Candidates With Previous Experience Working In A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Knowledge And Skills In Caring For Critically Ill Newborns.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certification: Sutter Health Requires All Registered Nurses To Hold Current Bls And Acls Certifications. These Certifications Ensure That The Candidate Is Trained In Lifesaving Techniques And Can Respond Effectively In Emergency Situations.

  • Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills: As A Registered Nurse In The Neonatal Icu, Effective Communication And Critical Thinking Skills Are Essential. The Candidate Must Be Able To Communicate Clearly With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals, And Make Quick And Accurate Decisions In High-Pressure Situations.
